How do I care for my diapers? TOP
This is the routine is use for all of my diapers: We do the dry pail method, this means we don't soak our diapers before washing them.
First: Make sure to separate all covers, diapers, inserts, wipes, etc before throwing them into your pail. I prefer to use a Fuzzi Bunz Hanging bag or Pail Liner because you can toss this into the wash along with your diapers. If your baby is older and eating solids, knock off any poop you can into the toilet.
Second: Cold soak in the washer, Hot wash, and Cold rinse. Personally, we use All free and clear, every once in a while I will throw in a scoop of baking soda or a couple drops of tea tree oil. I also will do a second wash with no detergent about every couple of weeks just to make sure there is no detergent left in the diapers.
Third: Throw diapers and most covers in the dryer. Some covers I don't recommend throwing in the dryer are Proraps and Imse Vimse diaper wraps, these will last longer if they are not thrown in the dryer. Wool covers shouldn't be put in the dryer, hang these to dry as well. |
